Verdict

The window is open — but narrower than "zero competitors"

The original claim that no competitors have structured AI-citable comparison data needs qualification. PolicyBazaar.ae has FAQPage schema, and InsuranceMarket.ae has a comprehensive llms.txt. Both are ahead of GIG on AEO infrastructure.

But neither has done the hard part: publishing structured, insurer-specific comparison data — actual cover limits, premiums, exclusions, named by insurer — in a format AI can cite when a customer asks "which UAE travel insurer has the best medical cover?"

PolicyBazaar's FAQ answers say "it depends on the policy." InsuranceMarket has no FAQ schema at all. Neither site answers the comparison question. They capture general travel insurance queries; GIG Travel Compare is built to own the specific comparison query.
